MSU-Northern spikers earn Frontier Conference honors

It was a successful spring volleyball season for the entire Frontier Conference. The league rejoiced at getting to play after not being able to in the fall. Now, the league has announced its postseason honors, and several Skylights earned accolades.

Senior Rylee Burmester was named Frontier Second-Team All-Conference. Burmester is a 5-10 outside hitter from Star Valley, Wyoming. She led the team with total points of 261, and led the team in kills with 241. She had a hitting percentage of .101, .91 percent serving, 97 percent passing, 290 digs, and added 18 blocks.

Northern also had two players named to the All-Freshman team. Alana Graves received All-Freshman team. Graves is a 5-11 middle blocker from Ballantine. She had the second-most points on the team with 182. She had a hitting percentage of .113, .855 percent serving and had a total of 25 blocks. Emily Feller received All-Freshman team. Feller is a 5-9 setter from Helena. She had 80 points on the year. She had a hitting percentage of .212, setting percentage of .521 with 698 assists, .900 percent serving, and a total of 31 blocks.

Northern senior Shania Neubauer also earned a Champions of Character Award.

Frontier awards included Providence' Cydney Finberg-Roberts being named Player of the Year and Setter of the Year. Rocky Mountain College sophomore libero Ayla Embry was named Defensive Player of the Year. Rocky Mountain junior Weiying Wu was named Newcomer of the Year and University of Providence outside hitter/middle blocker Sadie Lott was named Freshman of the Year. University of Providence assistant coach Drew Choules was selected Assistant Coach of the Year. UP's Arunas Duda was named Coach of the Year.
