Hi-Line Athletes of the Week

Kody Strutz, Big Sandy Track

On the dirt, Big Sandy’s Kody Strutz put on quite the show. At Monday’s Groseclose Memorial in Rudyard, Strutz swept the 100, 200 and 400 meters for the Pioneers, who scored 52 points in the meet. Strutz, who also stars in football and basketball for Big Sandy, ran a 12.67 in the 100, a 27.75 in the 200 and a 1:01.90 in the 400. Strutz has also performed well at meets like the Cal Wearley Invite and others this season.

Dakota Krass, Turner Track

Turner’s Dakota Krass has a famous big sister. But on Monday, Krass got plenty of glory at the Groseclose Memorial Track Meet in Rudyard. Krass won the discus, the shot put and the 800 meters at the meet, helping the Tornadoes score 78 points to finish third behind Big Sandy and Box Elder. Krass is not just a standout on the track either, but she’s also starting to make a name for herself on the basketball court for the Tornadoes.
