Patti was born August 13, 1951, to Duane "Dewey" and Helen Hannum in Big Sandy, the youngest of three girls. She graduated from Big Sandy High School in 1969.

After graduation, she moved to Box Elder and worked as a secretary for the Chippewa Cree Tribe administration office until her son Darin was born. Being a single mother, she moved back to Big Sandy to be near family.

She started working for "The Grocery Store" in town and enjoyed the daily visits from her hometown friends and relatives who stopped in for groceries or just to say "Hi." For 42 years, she was quite the clerk at the store, filling orders, helping customers, always with a smile.

When Patti was not working at the store, she and a strong group of friends devoted their time to planning events and get togethers for benevolent causes, as well as people in need.

She loved all children, especially her grandchildren, and would always attend school events, football and basketball games, band concerts, school plays, and any other function to support them. She became known as "Grandma Patti."

Patti was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her son, Darin (Melissa) Hannum; sisters, Helen "Gail" Hannum, Rita (Woody) Bonger; grandchildren, Trojan and Damon Hannum, CJ and Jaclyn Evans, as well as the Simpson and Kulbeck kids.
