Evans trying to qualify for the Olympics in the triple jump
Havre's Sammy Evans was a record-setting triple jumper for the University of Montana, who is now competing for a sport on the U.S.A. Track and Field Team for next month's Tokyo Games.
She's had a dream for. a long, long time. Now, she's literally one big jump away from making it a reality.
Tonight in Eugene, Oregon, former Havre Blue Pony Sammy Evans will compete in the U.S.A. Track and Field Olympic Trials, where she will look to make the Olympic team in the triple jump for next month's Tokyo Games.
Evans had a storied career both at Havre High and the University of Montana. She still holds the indoor long jump and both indoor and outdoor triple jump school records at Montana, and twice qualified for the NCAA West Regionals after winning multiple Big Sky Conference titles....
