Local Golf Report: Lots of local golf success this past week

From Tee to Green

Quite a few congratulations to get to in this column.

First, a big congrats to my buddy Chad Spangler. It was only last week I learned he recorded a hole-in-one back on May 12. Spangler aced the par-3 13th hole at Prairie Farms Golf Course with a six-iron. Great job Chad.

Congrats also goes out to the winning team at last weekend’s Natalie Patrick Foundation Tournament at Prairie Farms. Erickson Insurance, which included Mike Erickson, Justine Beaudry, Greg Mosness and Scott Miller won the team title.

Of course, the Natalie Patrick Foundation does so many great things in our community, and it’s certainly near and dear to me, as the foundation supports Havre High golf tremendously. So on behalf of Blue Pony golf, thanks to the Patrick family, to everybody involved with the foundation, and to everyone who puts on a great tournament.

Also, congrats to everybody who played in, won big and put on the North Star Athletics Tournament last Sunday at Beaver Creek Golf Course. That, too, is a great event to support sports at North Star Schools. Great job on that tournament as well. And speaking of tournaments at BCGC, up next is the Havre Wrestling Club Scramble this weekend, another big, and important fundraiser. Good luck to all, and have a blast.

In golf league action last week, the first half of men’s league at Prairie Farms ended. Wagner Plumbing won the first half the Tuesday night season, while Master Sports won the first half of Wednesday. Myers Ranch, Tire Rama and BA Ranch also made the playoffs from Tuesday and Korb Construction, HUB Insurance and Gallery Lounge qualified from Wednesday night.

Last Tuesday night meanwhile, saw Tilleman Motors earn high team with 22.5 points, while Jeff Jensen shot a scorching 3-under par 33 for low gross, while Rob Myers was low net with a 31. Jerod Boles shot 37 to take low gross on Wednesday night, while Ryan Bakke was low net at 32 and Loch Electric was high team.

Last Thursday night at Prairie Farms ladies league, Patrick Construction earned high-team honors with 26 points. The team was made up of Katie Heath, Kathy Peterson, Sue Armstrong, and Stacy Mantle. Sarah Spangler was low gross with a stellar 36, while Renessa Gailand was low net with a 28.

At BCGC men’s league last Thursday, Dustin Haas and Kyle Miller each shot 37 for low gross, while Tanner Veis was low net with a 26.9. Parisons was high team with 46.
