Gildford Colony School board holding special budget meeting

The Gildford Colony School Board of Trustees held a special meeting June 18 to propose a resolution to amend its budget, and is meeting Monday to approve the resolution.

The resolution says that the school’s enrollment has increased and the budget set for the year is inadequate for the entire year.

The resolution anticipates using Direct State Aid, defined by Montana Office of Public Instruction as state aid paid to each district in support of the district’s general fund budget, as the source to increase the budget by more than $140,000 to cover the unanticipated increased expenses....
