State and local COVID-19 update, Aug. 31, 2021

The Montana state COVID tracking map after this morning’s update listed 890 new cases, 5,057 active cases, 251 hospitalizations and 1,800 deaths. The cumulative total for the state as 127,227 cases.

Blaine County Health Department reported Monday evening being notified of 6 new cases Saturday through Monday, 43 active, no active hospitalizations listed, 954 total cases, 24 deaths.

Hill County Health Department reported Monday evening that 16 new cases were reported Saturday through Monday, 79 active, 4 active hospitalizations, 2,263 total cases, 47 deaths.

The health department in its report added that it is working with the state Department of Public Health and Human Services to correct errors in the Hill County report on the state tracking map.

Rocky Boy reported Monday, also reported on either Chouteau or Hill County numbers, 4 new cases, 36 active, 1 active hospitalization, 837 total cases. It has had 7 deaths.

Fort Belknap reported Monday evening, also reported on either Blaine or Phillips County numbers, 4 new cases, 17 active, no active hospitalizations, 538 total cases, 12 deaths.

Liberty County Public Health reported Monday 4 new cases, 9 active, no active hospitalizations listed, 155 total cases, 1 death.

Chouteau County, reported on the state update this morning, had 5 new cases, 9 active, 533 total cases, 7 deaths.

People can visit the state tracking map, normally updated between 10 and 11:30 a.m. each day, online through links at https://montana.maps.arcgis.com and at https://covid19.mt.gov .

People can find online where vaccines are available in their area through https://vaccinefinder.org , operated by Boston’s Children’s Hospital and supported by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the United States Digital Service.
