Festival Days sports includes 30 years of 48-Hour softball

Festival Days is back. After COVID-19 kept most of the annual Havre celebration from going forward in 2020. This year nothing is stopping the 2021 Havre Festival Days celebration that includes, as usual, a plethora of local sports.

This weekend, Havre will once again play host to the 48-Hours of Softball Tournament, which runs from Friday night through Sunday afternoon at the Sixth Avenue Memorial Field. The tournament is nonstop with games being played all through the day and night, and it is among the fan favorites of Festival Days every year.

This year also marks the 30th anniversary of the tournament, which draws in players and fans from all over the state.

Local sports also play a big part in the Festival Days tradition, as well, and while no Blue Pony or Montana State University-Northern football games fell on this year's Festival Days, there is a ton of volleyball action for fans to see.

The MSU-Northern Skylights will host the first-ever Frontier Conference Preseason Tournament, which takes place Friday and Saturday inside the Armory Gymnasium. The tournament will feature all the teams from the Frontier, and the Skylights will play two matches Friday and two matches Saturday.

The weekend also includes plenty of football and volleyball action from the high schools along the Hi-Line.

There's also the inaugural Hi-Line Games on top for the weekend, as well as plenty of other fun and exciting things to do and see during the Havre Has Grit celebration.
