Obituary - Kay Shizuko Miyashiro Riska

Kay Shizuko Miyashiro Riska, 64, left us on September 24th, 2021, and is now at peace after a long struggle with cancer.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at Boxcars Restaurant and Bar in Havre, MT, October 2nd at 1:30 p.m.

Kay was born August 12th, 1957, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Ralph Takeo Miyashiro and Shirley Jean Ferguson. She grew up in Hawaii and had one brother, Ralph Miyashiro, and two sisters, Jeannie Miyashiro and Sherry Henke Wallace. 

She met her husband, Ken Riska, in Tucson, Arizona, in 1988, and they married in 1993. In 1994, they moved to Montana and decided to make

Havre their home. Kay was always very kind and willing to do anything for anyone. She enjoyed beadwork, going fishing and spending time in the outdoors.

She was preceded in death by her father; brother, Ralph, and sister Jeannie.

She is survived by her husband, Ken Riska, and children, son, Jason (Cheri) Miyashiro (Fort Worth TX), daughter, Jessie Riska (Havre); her mother, Shirley Henke; sister Sherry Henke Wallace, and grandchildren, Nicodemus (Katilyn) Green, Kenneth Miyashiro, Garrick Miyashiro, Raiden Miyashiro, and one great-grandson, Zachary Miyashiro; numerous extended family and friends.
