State and local COVID-19 update, Oct. 8, 2021

The Montana state COVID tracking map after this morning’s update listed 1,315 new cases, 12,539 active cases, 463 hospitalizations and 2,079 deaths. The cumulative total for the state was 158,680 cases.

Blaine County Health Department reported Thursday evening being notified of 8 new cases, 136 active, 6 active hospitalizations, 1,243 total cases, 24 deaths.

Hill County, reported on the state update this morning, had 9 new cases. the data on the state map conflicted with the Hill County Health Department”s report Wednesday, which listed 203 active, 11 active hospitalizations, 3,019 total cases.

Rocky Boy reported Thursday, also reported on either Chouteau or Hill County numbers, reported Thursday a COVID-19-related death, 1 new case, 61 active, 4 active hospitalizations, 1,092 total cases. It has had 10 deaths.

Fort Belknap reported Thursday evening, also reported on either Blaine or Phillips County numbers, 3 new cases, 57 active, 3 active hospitalizations, 687 total cases, 12 deaths.

Liberty County, reported on the state update this morning, had 2 new cases, 25 active, 245 total cases, 1 death.

Chouteau County, reported on the state update this morning, had 2 new cases, 14 active, 633 total cases, 8 deaths.

People can visit the state tracking map, normally updated between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. each day, online through links at https://montana.maps.arcgis.com and at https://covid19.mt.gov .

People can find online where vaccines are available in their area through https://vaccinefinder.org, operated by Boston’s Children’s Hospital and supported by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the United States Digital Service.
