BOZEMAN — Nursing a 13-6 lead heading into the fourth quarter Saturday at Bobcat Stadium, Montana State called on its defense to help its offense. The result was a 27-9 Bobcat victory over Idaho State.

The No. 9 Bobcats defense forced visiting Idaho State into a three and out early in the fourth quarter, and following the Bengals punt, MSU scored on a 27-yard pass from Matthew McKay to Lance McCutcheon. That gave MSU a two-score lead and put the game out of reach at 20-6.
