Avery Carlson, Havre High Volleyball

The Havre High volleyball team had some exciting matches on their way to finishing third at the Eastern A Divisional last week in Laurel. And junior Avery Carlson had plenty to do with that. In Havre’s three matches over the weekend, Carlson averaged 10 kills, 16 digs and a block as the Blue Ponies battled their way to a third-place finish and a trip to this weekend’s state tourney. Carlson is also an All-Conference basketball and softball player at Havre High.

Lane Demontiney, Big Sandy Football

Big Sandy’s Lane Demontiney is showing just how good he is on the football field. Demontiney was all over the field for the Pioneers in their Six-Man quarterfinal win over DGS-WGR last Saturday. Demontiney scored on a 49-yard run, an 8-yard reception and a 75-yard interception return as the Pioneers rolled into this weekend’s Six-Man semifinals. Demontiney is also a standout at Big Sandy in basketball and track.
