Eastside Animal Clinic wins top award

As small businesses across the country recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Better Business Bureau has been searching for small businesses to honor for their dedication to integrity and ethical business practices. One small business that the BBB honored is Havre's own Eastside Animal Hospital that BBB awarded the Torch Award for Small Business of the Year in the entire state of Montana.

"That's a huge honor. I can't even truly perceive what that one means," owner Tari Mord said. "It just means that we are doing our best to be an ethical practice that looks out for the well being of our clients and our patients."

The Torch Award for Ethics is the most prestigious award that BBB gives, based on character, culture, customer engagement and community involvement.

Eastside Animal Hospital is a small animal and exotic animal services clinic that opened in Havre in 1996. The business provides surgery, medicine and even boarding for cats.

Mord nominated her business by filling out a questionnaire asking about how they conducted business and the importance they placed on ethical practices. While she is happy with the award, Mord does not plan on letting her business' new achievement go to her head.

"I think it's a reinforcer rather than a building block. I think it's just something that tells us that we're on the right track," Mord said. "We're always striving to do better but it's just an affirmation that we're on the right track."
