Havre Police Department

Officers investigated after a Wednesday 7:33 a.m. caller on Eighth Avenue reported that someone took off with the caller's vehicle. The vehicle was reported at 11:09 a.m. recovered and returned.

A possible violation of a protective order was reported at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday on Fifth Street.

A vehicle crash was reported on Fourth Street Wednesday at 12:51 p.m.

A caller at the emergency room reported an animal control issue Wednesday at 4:55 p.m.

--

A theft, forgery or fraud was reported on Second Avenue at 5:24 p.m. Wednesday.

Ashley Jane Smith of Havre, 29, was arrested on charges of obstructing a peace officer or other public servant, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia after a caller at First Avenue and Fourth Street reported Wednesday at 8:22 p.m. that neighbors were fighting in the middle of the street.

A caller at a Montana State University-Northern residence hall reported Wednesday at 9:37 p.m. that a vehicle had rolled into another vehicle.

--

Sheldon Nakota Shields of Harlem, 23, was arrested on charges of aggravated driving under the influence and speeding on local street during a 2:14 a.m. vehicle stop today at 13th Avenue and First Street.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

Sheriff's office dispatch log was not available today due to the holiday.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical personnel responded to six calls Wednesday and two early this morning.

Firefighters responded to a 12:21 p.m. Wednesday fire call on the 300 Block of First Street, but no one was made available to provide details.

Havre Animal Shelter

The shelter this morning held two kittens of unknown gender, seven female cats, four male cats, one male 13-week-old kitten, and a female and a male six-month-old kittens.

The shelter also held a male shepherd, a male 9-month-old mixed-breed puppy, a male pit bull, two female mixed-breed dogs, a female 22-week-old Labrador retriever puppy, a female 22-week-old border collie-Australian cattle dog-blue heeler puppy and a male mixed-breed dog. Also, a male and a female 13-week-old mixed-breed puppies and a female 10-month-old mixed-breed puppy were being held separately.
