Parks and Recreation board meeting Dec. 9

HELENA — The Montana State Parks and Recreation Board will meet in person on Dec. 9, at the Montana State Capitol in Room 303 beginning at 1 p.m.  

Interested members of the public may comment via ZOOM, in person or at any FWP regional office. People who are interested in commenting via ZOOM must register online at the Fish, Wildlife and Parks website  by noon, Dec 8.  

The sign-up opportunity is open from noon Dec. 1 to noon Dec. 8. To sign up, people should go to https://myfwp.mt.gov/fwpPub/mtg/parksandrecreationmeeting12092021 . 

To listen to the meeting and for information on how to join the meeting via Zoom, people can click on the State Parks and Recreation Board’s webpage at https://fwp.mt.gov/aboutfwp/parksandrecreationboard prior to the meeting start time. 

The board will take action on the following items: 

• Somers Beach BNSF Railway Lease (“North Forty”) 

• Montana State Parks Biennial Smith River Fee Rule One-Year Extension 

• Assignment of Hell Creek Lease to the Little Shell Tribe 

The board will also hear updates on the following items: 

• Missouri Headwaters State Park Master Plan from Contractor 

• Fish, Wildlife and Parks Reorganization and Planning.
