Community Christmas Dinner still looking for volunteers

Meals delivered and served in Eagles Club Saturday

The Havre Eagles Club is set to host the annual Community Christmas Dinner Saturday, Dec. 25, and is still looking for volunteers.

Eagles Auxiliary President Candace Dess said they won’t turn anyone who wants to help away and there’s plenty to do, but they are looking for people to box up and deliver meals so people with vehicles are preferable.

People interested can call 406-265-9551.

Dess said, the dinner will be more normal than last year, when the club was operating exclusively by delivery due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year meals again will be served in the Eagles Club from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

She said all are welcome and the dinner is free, though free-will donations are accepted.

She said people can still have meals delivered, but if they do they should call the North Central Senior Center at 406-265-5464 by Thursday at 3 p.m. She said those calling at the last minute should instead call 265 9981.

The dinner has been a mainstay of Havre’s Christmas celebration for decades, and Dess said she and the rest of the club are thrilled to have a more traditional event after last year.
