Fort Peck Summer Theatre holding virtual auditions for 2022 season

Press release

Many wonderful opportunities are available throughout the summer as Fort Peck Summer Theatre celebrates its 53rd season, the program said in a release.

Half of the summer will operate as a repertory theatre again, meaning at times four shows will be open and performing on a rotating schedule each weekend from June 3 through July 10. The final two shows will be in the program’s traditional stock format of three weekends of performances one title for the period.

Opportunity for local cast involvement are likely in:

• “The Complete History of America + Patriot Musical Revue” (Rehearsals begin May 24; Performances June 10 through July 9). An ensemble of strong singers and dancers will be featured in the revue portion of the performance.

• “The Bridges of Madison County” (Rehearsals begin May 31; Performances June 17 through July 10). Michael and Carolyn: two large roles available for a male and female teenage, demanding strong vocalists for this Jason Robert Brown score. Some additional ensemble roles may also be cast locally.

• “Seussical” (Rehearsals begin July 9; Performances July 29 through August 14). Many roles available for all ages, including the leading role of JoJo. For people who were cast in the cancelled 2019 production, we are requiring that everyone re-auditions, as heights and some vocal ranges are sure to have changed.

• “Wait Until Dark” (Rehearsals begin August 2; Performances Aug. 19 through Sept. 2). The leading non-singing role of Gloria, a spunky, 11-year-old to teenage aged female.

To submit an audition, people can visit the Fort Peck Theatre website to download and complete the following:

• Fill out of the “AUDITION FORM,” including all conflicts. Please remember to be thorough and forthcoming with potential conflicts. They unfortunately can become a major factor during difficult casting decisions, and it is not fair or acceptable to intentionally omit any on your audition sheet, with hopes to add later.

• Include a current and recognizable photo of yourself in email to Andy

• Complete video of posted material. Cell phone videos are perfectly acceptable.

• Be sure to introduce yourself and clearly state name in audition video.

• Song selection (“Oh the Thinks You Can Think” from Seussical, “State Road 21” from Bridges of Madison County, OR “Grand Old Flag”). Accompaniment track to be used for audition, reference recording with singer, and sheet music are posted. There are three song options: feel free to do only one or multiple.

• Monologue. The monologue sheet as two selections through please select one that you feel best shows you off!

Additional callback material for specific roles may be sent to some auditionees.

All local auditions must be submitted virtually to Artistic Director Andy Meyers at [email protected]. Deadline to submit is Friday, Feb. 11.
