Obituary - Raymond 'Gunny' Duncan Dupree

Raymond “Gunny” Duncan Dupree passed away unexpectedly February 15, 2022, in Billings, MT.

He was born on October 5, 1982, in Havre, MT to Suane Winchell and Raymond Dupree.

Gunny lived in Havre until he was 8 years old, then relocated to Billings with his mom and grandma. He spent the rest of his life in Billings, where he went to school, made several life-long friends, worked as a roofer and construction laborer, and met his love, Kelly, the mother of his two sons, Kaden and Khallion.

Gunny was a very gentle, kind person who loved his family deeply and unconditionally. He was extremely close to his mother, grandmother and siblings. Being the eldest sibling, he was looked up to and admired by all his brothers, whom he was very close to. He enjoyed playing football, working out and always made sure to take care of his appearance. He was a kind-hearted, loving person with a generous heart. He showed love and kindness to everyone he encountered.

Although he struggled his entire life with addiction, depression, anxiety and low self-esteem, he always tried to help others and make people laugh. The stabilizing force in his life was his faith in Jehovah God’s word, The Bible. When he was very young, his grandma began studying The Bible with him. His spirituality was a great comfort and motivator in his life. He knew we are living in the last days and that soon all wickedness will end, and the righteous will inherit the paradise earth. Gunny knew that life is a precious gift from God and would never intentionally hurt anyone.

Gunny is preceded in death by his grandfather Edward “Bill” Winchell; fathers, Raymond Dupree Sr. and Terry Ceynar; uncle Ted Winchell; sister Rosebud Dupree, cousins Shawn Saddler Jr., Ryan Four Souls, Duane Paul Cole and Demarise St. Mark.

He is survived by his sons, Kaden and Khallion Berg; grandmother/mother, Bunny “BoBo” Brisbo; mother, Suane Winchell; brothers, Jordan Alhadid, Andrew and Scott Winchell, Joshua Weishaar, Nate Heard and Raymond Dupree; sisters Shyann Dupree, Billie Rae Dupree, Raylene Dupree, Sammi Dupree, Marie (Eric) Blumhardt, Kimberly and Samantha Weishaar, and Brandy Booth.

He had a close bond with his aunts Susan and Shannon Winchell and Sula (Sonny Boy) St. Mark.

Viewing was at Dahl Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Monday, February 21, 2022, with funeral services beginning at noon. Reception followed at 3 p.m. at 2905 Montana Avenue.
