Age limit suspended on Earned Income Tax Credits

from Montana Legal Services Association

Did you know that older Americans will qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit this year?

The Earned Income Tax Credit helps low- to moderate-income workers and families get a tax break. If you qualify, EITC could increase your tax refund. The age limit of 64 has been removed for 2021 taxes. Also, you don’t need a qualifying child to be eligible.

You can avoid hidden fees and charges by using IRS Free File or free in-person help through a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance site. You can find IRS Free File options at: https://apps.irs.gov/app/freeFile. You can find a VITA site near you at: https://irs.treasury.gov/freetaxprep .
