Grief Poem - A Kiss

Was fun to see a KISS stolen in downtown favorite store.

An older man turned quick away - in case they kissed some more.

You should have seen the joy they shared, as swiftly they did part.

Brought memories back of long ago - caused bit of pain in heart.

If siblings saw this couple kiss, especially in a STORE...

They would have screamed, reminding them "YOU KISS BEHIND A DOOR!"

Two friends just lost their precious spouse, but when God calls, one goes.

Sickness, disease - fast or slow, our "time" down here, God knows.

Seeing that kiss, hearing of loss, memories came flooding back.

Was it last month or several years? Heartbreak can not keep track.

Parent, sibling, our spouse or child; their passing breaks our heart.

It is so hard to say "Good-Bye" - it hurts to be apart.

That KISS we saw reminded us, as well as that old gent,

One look at him, we knew he felt the pain when off "she" went.

Grieving is hard but we do know, God will call us one day.

It tells us in His Holy Word, invite HIM in - and pray.

On that day when our days are up, when God calls down for us,

Then home we'll fly to "hug and KISS" - we'll FLY, not take a BUS!

So - Thanks you two[1] for memories, like us - so long ago.

We'll treasure that we saw your joy - your faces were aglow.

While we're down here remembering the day you flew above.

Though our heart aches, we know you safe, surrounded by God's love.
