Williams receives Reach Higher Montana scholarship

Havre High School senior Audrina Williams received a $1,000 scholarship from Reach Higher Montana, one of only 30 of its kind given out in the state this year.

Williams, who is also a student at Montana State University-Northern taking dual-credit courses, was presented the scholarship Tuesday. At the presentation, she said she's hoping to become a Montana physician or anesthesiologist.

She said she was ecstatic to have gotten the scholarship and she hopes to continue seeking ways to cover as much of her schooling's cost as possible.

She said she's been accepted to Montana State University in Bozeman, where she will probably study neuroscience and cell biology, and she is very excited to go.

"I fell in love with the place in general, and I cannot wait to start my school year there," she said.

Williams said she wants to stay in Montana after her schooling to pay the area back for what it has given her, including this scholarship.
