Northern graduation ceremony set for Saturday

Montana State University-Northern announced its 2022 commencement ceremonies will be Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 10 a.m. in the Armory Gymnasium Complex.

Doors will open at 9 a.m. and the processional will begin at 10 a.m. A reception will follow in the library entryway.

This year’s commencement speaker is state Sen. Brian Hoven, R-Great Falls.

Hoven owns and works at Hoven Equipment Company in Great Falls and is an active member of the community, a member of the Great Falls Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Legislator, and Cascade County Republican Party.

The ceremony is for students who complete degree requirements by the end of the upcoming summer sessions. The Registrar’s office is reporting that 263 students will be eligible to receive a total of 377 degrees. The numbers break down in the following ways: 131 females, 132 males, 52 certificates, 142 associate’s, 163 bachelor’s and 20 master’s degrees. These numbers will not be final until spring semester final exams are over just prior to commencement.

The ceremony is free and open to the public. There will be no reserved seats for individuals. A section of lower bleacher seats will be reserved for the handicapped. Handicapped parking spaces are limited. It is suggested you arrive early and use the north central entrance to the gymnasium for access to the ceremonies.
