Grief Poem - You are not forgotten

You are not forgotten, dear one, nor will you ever be, as long as life and memory last, we will remember thee.

We miss you now, our hearts are sore, we miss your smiling face. No one knows how you are missed; no one can fill your place.

Life is a lovely memory; death is a silent grief. He sleeps right now in God's Garden; he sleeps in perfect peace.

We miss you dear, so very much, but know God knew what's best. God let me keep him many years, then gently bid him rest.

We try to envision your joy on shore across the sea; some day we will joined again, now, it's enough for me.

There's always another tomorrow however hard the day. There's always an end to sorrow, time wipes our tears away.

There's always a reason for living though sad our hearts may be - there's always another horizon beyond the one we see.

Inside our hearts are aching still, it never seems to end - your leaving has left a sadness, a wound that'll never mend.

Many a tear we've shed, dear one, they continue to fall. - You took my happiness with you, the happiest hours of all.

Thus, shall I walk with you and keep the bond that love doth give, knowing that remembrance though unspoken shall reach you where you live.

You were one in a million, so why did you have to go? You meant the world to me, dear one, I really loved you so.

If I had one choice today, my dear, my choice would not be hard - I'd wish that I could have you here to give you a birthday card.

But that won't happen my dear one, but you're always by my side; for you have been, all my life's days, my joy, my love, my pride.
