Havre High announces Senior Athletes of the Year

Havre High school recently announced its Senior Athlete of the Year award-winners.

The Female Athlete of the Year went to Sadie Filius. This past school year, Filius competed in both basketball and track and field, where she was Class All-State in both. Filius helped the Blue Pony basketball team to the Class A state championship back in March, while earning All-State honors for the fourth straight year.

Filius is headed to Carroll College to play basketball for the Fighting Saints this fall.

Orion Thivierge was voted the Male Athlete of the Year. Thivierge competed in three sports this season and was All-State in two. He was a two-way All-State football player for the Ponies, at both running back and linebacker last season. He was also of course, a Class A state champion in wrestling, winning an individual title for the third straight season. Thivierge also competed in track this past spring.

Thivierge will attend the United State Naval Academy to wrestle starting this fall.
