Wilbur Ellis company donates $5K to Chester fire department

Press release

Recently, Wilbur Ellis of Chester was able to present the Chester Volunteer Fire Department with a check for $5,000 through a Wilbur Ellis Community Impact Funds grant.

Wilbur Ellis has operated locally across the Hi-Line for 10-plus years from Chester to Hingham and even stretching down to Fort Benton and Geraldine.

Wilbur Ellis is a large contributor to local causes in communities and across the state. People can find their donations to almost any local event or project; including new playground equipment for North Star Schools a few years back as well as new backboards for basketball hoops in the Fort Benton School gym.

Wilbur Ellis takes pride in giving back to the community with these community-impact funds.

"We strive to support the community that supports us," said Bob Elliott, salesman - and volunteer firefighter - at the Chester Wilbur Ellis location.

The funds for the Chester Volunteer Fire Department will be used toward a new thermal imaging camera to help the firefighters see through smoke and fire-filled structures with the goal of confirming whether all people/animals have made it out of the structure safely and are not trapped inside.

"We hope this donation can increase safety and clarity during time sensitive emergencies for our firemen and people in our community," the company said in a release. "Wilbur Ellis thanks the Chester Volunteer Fire Department for all the hours and care they put in to keep our community safe; especially in these dry and more drought-stricken years."
