Casey Miles carries the brown trout he just caught in the 2021 Rotary Fathers Day Fishing Derby at Rotary Pond in Beaver Creek Park. The derby is on again this Sunday, Father's Day, and Rotary Club President Dawn Ward said she expects an even bigger turnout than last year.
A long-standing tradition is back Sunday, Father's Day, with the Havre Rotary Club holding its annual fishing derby.
Club president Dawn Ward said she is not sure when the derby started, but at least before COVID-19 it was the longest-running Rotary event in the country.
She said she expects a big turnout this year.
"Last year, we had a pretty good turnout and I think that this year we will have even better, I really do," she said. "I think people are just wanting to get out and socialize more and enjoy the fresh air and enjoy being together."
