For the second straight Saturday, a big tournament took place at Prairie Farms Golf Course. Last Saturday saw the course host the MSU-Northern Football Scramble.
A full field of four-person teams played in the 18-hole event, which was won by Erickson Insurance. The team was composed of Mike Erickson, Jim Kirkpatrick, Justine Beaudry and Kyle Miller. Congrats to the team, and to everyone who played, in what was the first official Lights Football Tournament.
The tourney slate continues this weekend with the Natalie Patrick Foundation Scramble at Prairie Farms, while it’s also a big weekend at Beaver Creek Golf Course, where the annual Havre Wrestling Club Tournament will take place Saturday and the North Star Athletics Tournament will be held Sunday. Hopefully, we’ll get results from all three tourneys for next week’s From Tee to Green.
Rain last week also interrupted golf leagues, especially early in the week, as men’s league at Prairie Farms was canceled Tuesday, while ladies league at BCGC was also was he out last Wednesday. Last Wednesday at Prairie did get men’s league in where Gallery Lounge earned high team with 23.5 points. Kerry Ward, Hoover Peterson, Cal Wirtzberger and Mike Purkett made up the team. Kyle Miller shot an even-par 36 to earn low gross, while Kerry Olson was low net with a 31.
Last week did see ladies league get played at Prairie Farms Thursday night. Congrats to Ali Ward for shooting an outstanding 37 for low-gross honors, while Shari Baltrusch was low net with a 27. D.A. Davidson was high team with 21.5 points. The team was composed of Baltrusch, Karla Bolken, Paula Sheppard and Shelbi Darlington.
BCGC also held its men’s league last Thursday night.
More rain is in the forecast this week, so leagues may get interrupted yet again, but the moisture is always welcomed. If any cancellations occur, please let us know to get that information in next week’s column.
