Local Golf Report: Congrats to The Money Tourney winners

We have certainly reached the dog days of the local golf season. And while it might not be August yet, the heat certainly is making it feel like it.

Speaking of scorching. Congrats to the team of Cory Brothers, Jeff Brandon, Gordon Webb and K.C. Kindle for low gross and Craig Miller, Trey Hanson and Dustin and Tom Haas for low net in winning The Money Tournament last Saturday at Beaver Creek Golf Course.

There’s another big tourney at BCGC this weekend as the annual MSU-Northern Diesel Technology Scramble will be held Saturday. The four-person scramble is one of the biggest tournaments in Havre each golf season.

Speaking of tournaments, last weekend, the Montana Women’s State AM, Mid-Am and Senior-AM were held at Lake Hills in Billings, and a trio of Havre ladies played in the Senior-AM. Carol Culp placed 3rd, Patti Nault 6th and Teresa Brown 8th in their flight in the tourney. Great job ladies.

Back on the home front, league golf continued on through the searing temps last week.

Last Tuesday night at Prairie Farms Golf Course in men’s league, Tire Rama scored 20 points to take high-team honors. The team was made up of C.J. Evans, Lunar Evans, Kyle Miller and Jeremy Jensen. Miller shot a 3-under 33 for low gross, while Justin Kallenberger was low net with a 31. Last Wednesday night saw Korb Construction rack up 24 points for high team. Miller, John Olszewski, Mike Kellam and Mike Erickson made up the team. Olszewski shot a 2-under 34 for low gross, while Dave Peterson was low net with a 32.5.

In ladies league last Thursday, Goodrich Excavation was high team with 23.5 points. The winning team was composed of Alicia Goodrich, Jayme Seidel, Heather Grahn and Paige Henderson. Carrie Kato shot a 39 for low gross, while Sarah Christenson was low net with a 31.5.

Men’s league at BCGC continued last Thursday with Vic’s Place moving into first in the league standings.
