Havre local Ava Moomey participated in the Skylights volleyball camp Monday. Even though she is just a sixth grader, Moomey hopes to become a great volleyball player that can earn her an athletic scholarship for a college program.

Before getting the season started, the Montana State University-Northern volleyball team hosted the Skylights youth volleyball camp at Armory Gymnasium Monday. Young volleyball players from across the Hi-Line went to the camp, including Ava Moomey, a Havre local who had one goal on her mind at the camp.

"(I came here) to get better and learn," Moomey said.

Throughout the camp on Monday, Moomey and other camp attendees worked on drills involving serving, setting and hitting. Along with working on her volleyball game, Moomey enjoyed working with the Skylights and meeting new people.
