Northern volleyball plays strong in Arizona tournament

A long trip to Arizona could have been a daunting challenge for a season-opening tournament. But a young Montana State University-Northern volleyball team handled the visit to the OUAZ Tournament like a savvy veteran team in mid-season form.

Playing Friday and Saturday night in Surprise, Arizona, Northern went 3-1 to improve to 4-1 on the young season.

Head coach Jerry Wagner's team opened the tourney by beating Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Friday at the OUAZ tournament. The Skylights won in three sets (25-17, 25-17, and 25-15). The Skylights were led by Alana Graves, who tallied...
