Extreme heat returns to area, but maybe not for long

Unfortunately, it seems the region’s brief respite from the extreme heat is at an end, with highs in the 90s on the way throughout this week and most of next, with another break hopefully coming after that.

Until last week, Montana, as well as much of the U.S. and the world, was experiencing a scorching summer, with highs rarely going under 90 degrees and often going well into the triple digits for weeks on end.

According to data from the National Weather Service, 25 out of 29 days this month have been above-average in terms of average temperature compared to 21 out of 31 days in July....
