Hi-Line Athletes of the Week

Emerson Giese, Fort Benton Volleyball

Emerson Giese is back. After getting injured during the winter basketball season, Giese is off to a roaring start in volleyball for Fort Benton. Last weekend, in a pair of 7C matches, Giese tallied 30 kills and nine aces in wins over Big Sandy and Chester-Joplin-Inverness. Giese also plays basketball and runs track and field for the Longhorns. She was a part of the 2021 Class C state championship basketball team.

Shane Patacsil, Havre High Golf

The Havre High golf season is already in the home stretch. And Blue Pony junior Shane Patacsil is getting hot at the right time. Patacsil recently captured first place at the East Glacier Invite then won his match at the Jawbone Classic is Harlowton. Patacsil followed that up with a sixth-place finish at the Fergus Invite last Thursday. Patacsil, who is also a standout basketball player for the Ponies, is a returning varsity player for HHS golf.
