Estimated size of Eagle Creek fire reduced

Now listed at 7,225 acres, showing 40 percent contained

The latest estimate of the size of the Eagle Creek fire in the Bear Paw Mountains lists it at 7,225 acres, considerably smaller than estimates Friday that put it at 8,200 acres.

The listing on the inciweb fire incident website that listed the size at 4:43 p.m. today says it is 40 percent contained.

The fire was first discovered on Rocky Boy's Indian Reservation on or near Mount Baldy Wednesday afternoon.

Inciweb says the fire is active and 234 personnel are on site.
