Out our way, one of the first things a tenderfoot cowboy learns is the importance of circling. A horse can get skittish and less than cooperative at times - and often the best thing is to "circle" him. Ole Doc didn't care for the horse trailer and often refused to load. So after a few refusals, I would start trotting him in a circle pattern until he calmed down, and more often than not, he walked right into the trailer.
