Work continues on Eagle Creek Fire

A helicopter fighting the Eagle Creek Fire in the Bear Paw Mountains scoops water Sunday.
A post on the InciWeb fire data website at 6:14 p.m. Sunday said firefighters are continuing to make progress, with the estimated containment doubled by that time to 40 percent.
The estimated size of the fire has gone down from previous estimates, with the estimate Sunday evening at 7,225 acres,
Estimates Thursday and Friday had gone as high as 8,500 acres.
The InciWeb post said the fire burned actively within the fire perimeter Sunday, most actively in the southwestern corner within containment lines, but no growth in the fire acreage occurred that day.
