Northern rodeo teams ride well at Dawson Community College

This past Friday and Saturday, the Montana State University-Northern rodeo teams competed in a rodeo in Glendive hosted by Dawson Community College. At the end of the weekend, the MSU-N women's team finished second in its rodeo while the MSU-N men's team took fourth.

The MSU-N women's team scored 170 points to take second in its rodeo. Montana State University scored 425 total points to win the women's rodeo while the University of Montana came in third. The MSU-N men's team scored 340 points to take fifth in its rodeo. Montana Western won the men's rodeo with 660 total points while Tech came in second and Miles Community College took third.

Many riders had strong performances over the weekend. In bareback riding, Ethan Frasier finished third with a score of 121. In tie down roping, Hunter Henderson finished fourth in the event with a time of 26.6.

In team roping, Lincoln Yarama took first as the header with a time of 17.3. For the girls team, Brittney Bo Cox finished second in barrel racing with a time of 35.28. In breakaway roping, Kendra Statham finished tied for fifth with a time of 3.5.

The MSU-N rodeo teams will next compete this Friday and Saturday with a rodeo at the Bigger Better Barn at the Great Northern Fairgrounds in Havre.
