Northern linebacker Dylan Wampler named First-Team All-Conference

For the third straight football season, a Montana State University-Northern linebacker has been named All-Conference.

The 2022 Frontier All-Conference Team and postseason awards were announced Monday, with Wampler being named First Team Defense for the second year time, and All-Conference for the third season in a row.

Wampler, a junior, finished the season with 91 tackles, which was third in the Frontier, as well as 4.5 sacks, nine tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and one interception. For his career, Wampler has over 300 tackles since coming to MSU-N.

The league also handed out its annual awards with Montana Western quarterback Jon Jund earning Frontier Offensive Player of the Year for the second straight season. Carroll College defensive end Garrett Kocab was named Defensive Player of the Year, while Carroll head coach and former Havre Blue Pony Troy Purcell was named Coach of the Year.
