Fires burn in a Bureau of Land Management prescribed burn Dec. 9, 2021, at the Camp Creek project area. The BLM north-central Montana District's fuels program staff will start prescribed fire operations tomorrow, Dec. 20, at the Camp Creek fuels-reduction project management area in Montana's Little Rocky Mountains, located about 1.5 miles northeast of Zortman and one-quarter mile east of the Camp Creek campground.
Bureau of Land Management north-central Montana District fuels program staff plan to conduct pile burning, starting today, Dec. 20, on BLM-managed lands at the Camp Creek project area, in the Little Rocky Mountains near Zortman.
Burning operations will address about 14 acres of woody hand piles located about 1.5 miles northeast of Zortman and one-quarter mile east of the Camp Creek campground on the northwest slope. Favorable burning conditions are present with on-site snow accumulation of approximately 10-12 inches. Fuels program managers anticipate the prescribed burn will be complete...
