Havre Police Department

Edgar Benjeamin Johnson Jr. of Harlem, 54, was arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and on three Justice or City court warrants, and Clarissa Mae Messerly of Havre, 31, was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia after officers were called Tuesday at 9:57 a.m. to assist probation and parole on Ninth Avenue.

A 2:16 p.m. Tuesday caller on Cowan Drive reported their vehicle slid on ice into a stop sign, knocking the sign over.

A written or verbal warning was issued after a Tuesday 2:52 p.m. caller reported a short-haired dog had been chained too long to a porch on Pine Drive.

A hit and run crash was reported on Fifth Avenue at 8:07 p.m.

Hill County Sheriff’s Office

Sheriff’s office dispatch log showed no arrests, summonses or investigations in the 24-hour reporting period.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical technicians responded to four calls Tuesday and one call early this morning.

Havre Animal Shelter

The shelter this morning held five cats all of unknown gender, four female cats and three male cats, along with five feral cats in the trap-neuter-release program.

The shelter also held a male Shih Tzu-poodle cross, a male and a female mixed-breed dogs, 16 mixed-breed puppies of varying ages from 9 weeks to 10 months and a female Yorkshire terrier. Additionally, a male dog and a female dog with 10 puppies, all of mixed-breeding, were being housed off-site.
