Cooler temps, light snow back in area

A Montana Department of Transportation worker Sunday morning finishes clearing ice and slush from the eastbound lane of U.S. Highway 2 near the Hill and Blaine county line after runoff from melting snow and ice flooded the highway.

After several warm days turned snow to slush - and caused some highway flooding over the weekend - colder temperatures have frozen that slush with some more light snow falling across this part of north-central Montana this morning.

Warmer temperatures dominated the area over the weekend - Havre had a high of 42 Saturday with it hitting 35 by 6:13 a.m. and a high Sunday of 41 with it dropping to just below freezing - 29 degrees - just before midnight.
