Havre Daily News staff

Havre law enforcement dispatch received a report Wednesday at 7:29 p.m. of a person in Box Elder injured by one or more gunshots causing wounds to the stomach, thigh and groin.

Hill County Undersheriff Stan Martin said this morning that the incident occurred on Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation, but deputies responded to help with transport of the victim.

No one was made available with Rocky Boy Police to comment on the incident and the FBI hadn’t responded by print deadline on a request for comment.

Havre Fire Chief Nathan Courtnage said that a private vehicle transporting the victim and a Havre ambulance crew met at mile marker 106 on U.S. Highway 87, and Havre ambulance completed the transport of the victim to the hospital.
