Yet another big week of high school girls basketball took place on the Hi-Line.

On Tuesday, Chinook beat Hays-Lodge Pole 57-28 and Box Elder knocked off North Star 53-49 in a key District 9C game.

Last Thursday saw the Chinook Sugarbeeters keep their hold on the District 9C with a 71-40 thrashing of Big Sandy. The Beeters got 24 points from Hallie Neibauer. Alexus Seymour knocked down 19 points and Bree Swanson tallied 13.

Thursday night also saw Rocky Boy battle Hays-Lodge Pole in a matchup of former 9C foes, with the Thunderbirds winning 47-28, while Harlem fell to Malta, 70-36.

Friday night in the 9C saw Box Elder knock off Chester-Joplin-Inverness in a key game, 55-54 in a thriller. The Bears held off a late surge from the Hawks to escape with the road win behind Melyah Oats' 18 points. Box Elder (4-3, 6-4) also got 12 from Ariel Gopher as seven Bears made the scoring column. Brynn Kammerzell led the Hawks (3-5, 5-6) with 27 points and MaRae Smail added 13.

Fort Benton also bounced Turner 50-28. The Longhorns scored 23 points in the third quarter to pull away. Casha Corder led three in double figures with 16 points, while Kaydyn LaFurgey chipped in 10. Dakota Krass scored 11 points for Turner.

In a District 1B game Friday, Rocky Boy fell to Shelby 72-47. The Morning Stars were led by Jayci Demontiney's 26 points.

Saturday night saw Fort Benton upset North Star in a critical 9C game, 36-34. The Longhorns (6-3, 6-5) rallied for an 18-point fourth quarter to get past the Knights (6-2, 8-2). Emmerson Giese scored 19 points to lead Fort Benton. Kaytlyn Domire led North Star with 16.

Chinook remained in first place in the 9C with a 59-43 win over Box Elder Saturday night. Alexus Seymour's 27 points led the Sugarbeeters, but Hallie Niebauer added 19.

Big Sandy was a big winner Saturday night as the Pioneers beat HLP 67-58. The Pioneers improved to 5-4 in conference play and 7-5 overall behind 33 points from Eva Yeadon and 23 points from Eva Wagoner. Keira Galbavy added six points and Jaihaven Baumann five.

And in the game of the night, Turner scored a huge 9C win, beating CJI 49-37. Dakota Krass drained 20 points as the Tornadoes built a 26-10 halftime lead and held off the Hawks down the stretch. Ali Doyle scored 11 points and Cassidy Grabofsky chipped in with six. MaRae Smail tallied 13 points for the Hawks. Brie Mattson added eight points.
