The Sunnyside Intermediate School spelling bee was held Monday, Jan. 23, 2023.
After 14 rounds, Risa Hileman was declared the champion speller. Her winning word was "serum."
Isaac Yost was the runner up, and Tenlee Hungerford took third place.
The top 10 spellers from the Sunnyside bee will go on to compete at the 2023 Hill County Spelling Bee, Feb. 9, 2023.
In addition to Risa, Isaac, and Tenlee, the top ten contestants include Mason Dannen, Hunter Tweeten, Jacobi Knoles, Kaelin Peltier, Genevieve Lass, Sidney Farr and Walter Hibl. Charlotte Stoll will serve as alt...
