Obituary - Jean Y. Green

Jean Y. Green, 89, passed away at Benefis Healthcare Wednesday, February 15, 2023.

Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Her family has suggested memorial donations be made in Jean's memory to the Care and Comfort Home or St. Jude School.

Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.

Jean was born July 27, 1933, in Iron River, WI, to Carl and Bernice (Kirkkedahl) Beaver. She was raised primarily in Grand Forks, ND, until she was 12, when the family moved to Nespelem, WA, where Jean graduated from high school and where she met Oliver Pakootas. She then moved to Spokane to attend nurse's training, and married Oliver with whom she had two daughters.

The couple later divorced, and Jean found herself in Havre, where she worked for many years at the Duck Inn. She married Richard Green in 1976, and the couple remained together until his death in 2018.

Jean was a sweet, spunky woman who worked hard her entire life. She enjoyed dancing and searching for bargains at garage sales. For many years, she was an accomplished seamstress. Jean was a member of the Havre Eagles Club and St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard "Dick" Green; parents, Carl and Bernice Beaver; siblings Albert "Butch" Beaver, Wallace "Butch" Cady, Marvin Beaver, Dema Dresen, Vernon Beaver, Delbert Beaver, and Bertha Chvilicek.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Sylvia (Terry) Hansen of Havre and Belinda (Dennis) Sheridan of Huntley; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings Ada and Adell Beaver of Omak, WA, Mike Beaver of TX, Tyna Babbit of TX, Bonnie Carlson of Chinook, and Beverly (Ron) Hatler of Cottage Grove, MN, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
