Local students received Good Citizens Awards from local DAR Chapter

The Daughters of the American Revolution Black Eagle-Assinniboine Chapter in Great Falls presented 11 Good Citizen Awards at its Feb. 11 meeting and George Washington Tea.

Chapter Regent Selene Thomas and Good Citizen Chair Char Ross awarded Good Citizen certificates, pins and wallet cards to students including Lance Rutledge from Big Sandy High School, Bree Swanson from Chinook High School, Rayna Johnson from Havre High School and Rainee Watson from North Star High School.

Awards also were presented to Nadely Chapman-Roberts from Dutton/Brady High School, Jory Clary from Shelby High School, Allie Eaves from

Power High School, McKray Freeze from White Sulpher Springs High School, Baylee Herman from Simms High School, Shea Ostberg

from Fairfield High School, and Ellinor Whitney from Centerville High School.

Students had the opportunity to take part in the essay portion of the award if they chose, with the winner receiving a check from the chapter. The Good Citizen Chapter Essay winner was Rainee Watson from North Star High School. All Good Citizen winners who were unable to attend had their certificates sent to their school counselors for later presentation.

"Congrats to all of our winners," the chapter said.
