Obituary - Harold J. Anderson

Harold J. Anderson, 91, passed away due to natural causes at Northern Montana Care Center Friday, May 26, 2023.

Cremation has taken place, and a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Harold's family has suggested memorial donations be made in his memory to the charity of the donor's choice.

Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Harold was born April 1, 1932, in Havre to Alvin and Dorothy (Kattestad) Anderson. He was raised in Havre, graduating from Havre High School in 1951.

In 1952, Harold joined the U.S. Army and served until his honorable discharge in 1954, completing his term of service with the Army Reserves.

He married Virginia Farley, and the couple had three children before later divorcing.

In 1961, Harold married Kathryn Mauge, and together the couple had a son and daughter.

He worked for the Great Northern Railroad as a machinist.

Harold enjoyed fishing, bowling, hunting, camping, and ham radio.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Brittney Fugelseth; parents, Alvin and Dorothy Anderson; sisters, Mona Cooper, Clara Anderson and Thelma Severson, and brother Alvin Anderson.

Harold is survived by his wife, Kathy Anderson, of Havre; daughters, Peggy (Tom) Sage and Susan Breum, all of Havre; sons, Allan (Margaret) and Neal Anderson of Havre, James (Noon) Anderson of Thailand, and Harold Anderson Jr. of Havre; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers Gerald Anderson of Havre and Elger Anderson of Wisconsin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
