County approves appointment of special deputy county attorney

The Hill County Commission approved during its business meeting Thursday five requests from Hill County Attorney Lacey Lincoln to appoint a special deputy county attorney to assist her in a number of prosecutions coming up, but the commission had to table its other business for various reasons.

A memorandum of agreement with Havre Trails had to be tabled since a transfer to Montana Land Reliance hadn’t yet been completed.

Hill County Commissioner Mark Peterson said they put it on the agenda in case that transfer had been done this week, but since it hasn’t they would table the matter until further notice.

They also tabled a contract that Lincoln said did not meet legal standards and a proposed amended plat because the relevant party didn’t show up.
