Despite heavy rains Saturday morning, over 300 runners participated in the third annual Bear Paw Marathon. Many runners from the Hi-Line and the rest of the country came to Havre to compete, with some recording strong times to finish high in their races.
Despite heavy rain on Saturday morning, runners from across the nation were able to compete in the Bear Paw Marathon right here in Havre. Over the course of the marathon, the half marathon and the 5K, more than 300 runners competed with a few rising above the rest.
The Bear Paw Marathon, which started all the way up on Sucker Creek Road early in the morning, was won by Tristan Scott on the men's side. The Whitefish resident recorded a time of 3:10:28.77 for the best finish of all the runners on the marathon. While the rain put a damper on things, Scott enjoyed coming out to the Hi-Line to run....
