'All Together Now' as library summer reading program starts

Press release

The Summer Reading Program at the Havre-Hill County Library starts Wednesday, running from June 7 through July 29, and the theme this year is “All Together Now.”

Festivities begin 10 a.m. and run to 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, with the Hands Across the Library kick-off event. All who attend may sign up for the program, trace their hand to help decorate the library, paint a rock to spread kindness in the community, and take home a goody bag.

People who can’t make it to this event can still register any time after that, just stop by the library during our open hours. The library recommend registering by July 1.

“Then we read, read, read,” a release said. “For every 100 minutes a participant under 18 records, they earn a raffle ticket towards the raffle prize of their choice. Adults, do not despair! Participants over 18 earn a raffle ticket towards a shop local gift bundle for every 100 minutes recorded. Submit minutes weekly in person or on the go by calling in or using the google form linked on our website.

The website is at https://www.havrehilllibrary.org .

“As part of our Summer Reading Program theme All Together Now, we plan to put together personal care kits that will be available free for anyone who needs one,” the release said. “We are accepting donations of personal items to be put into the care kits, such as socks, soap, hand sanitizer, toothbrushes and toothpaste, etc.”

People can join the library staff Saturday, July 22, at 3:30 to put the kits together. Once assembled, the kits will be made available to the public at the Havre-Hill County Library, Feed My Sheep Soup Kitchen, St. Jude Thaddeus Church, Van Orsdel United Methodist Church, HRDC Victim Services and the Salvation Army Office.
