Sharon Ann Gummer, 70, passed away July 9, 2023 in Billings, Montana of natural causes at Yellowstone River Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born to William and Bettijean (Bidmead) Smith July 10, 1952, in Roundup, Montana. She later moved to Lewistown and then Havre, Montana. She attended school in Havre and graduated from Havre High School in 1970. She attended Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana.
She married Robert Gummer February 16th, 1974, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Havre. They had two sons, Morris and Bradley and, one daughter, Rebecca. She worked a variety of jobs including as an employee at the Havre Daily News and as a florist. Sharon also owned a bookstore in Havre called The Book Haven.
Sharon and Robert later moved to Billings, Montana, to be closer to their children and grandchildren. After Robert's death, she moved to Yellowstone River Nursing, where she spent time chatting and doing craft projects with the other residents and staff. She also enjoyed painting, coloring, reading, camping and spending time with her grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by her three children, Morris (Dawn) Gummer, Rebecca (Robert) Petersen, Bradley (Danielle) Gummer, all of Billings, Montana. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Samatha Gummer, Evan Gummer, Bennett Petersen, Amelia Petersen, Allison Gummer, Brianna Gummer, Jonah Petersen, and Wyatt Gummer.
Sharon is preceded by her husband, Robert Gummer, her sister, Susan Seitz, and her parents, William and Bettijean Smith.
A graveside service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 13th, at the Highland Cemetery in Havre, Montana, followed by a reception at the Great Northern Inn.
